Public consultation is an integral part of the Town of Qualicum Beach’s Strategic and Financial Planning process and includes multiple opportunities for public participation.
Strategic Planning
The 2024 financial discussions will kick off with Strategic Planning sessions of Council, open to the public and held in the Council Chamber of Town Hall (660 Primrose Street):
- November 10, 10am, Committee of the Whole
- November 15, 10am, Committee of the Whole
Third Quarter Financial Update
Following Strategic Planning sessions, a Third Quarter Financial Update will be presented to Council in the Council Chamber of Town Hall (660 Primrose Street):
- December 6, 10am, Regular Council Meeting
Public Engagement
To encourage further community input the following meetings are open to the public to provide input and ask questions. These meetings will be held in the Council Chamber of Town Hall (660 Primrose Street):
- December 13, 10am, Committee of the Whole (preliminary budget discussion)

January 17, 2pm, Committee of the Whole (public engagement)

January 24, 6pm, Committee of the Whole (public engagement)
Bylaw Readings
Following public input, the Financial Bylaw will be given readings by Council taking steps toward adoption of the Financial Bylaw as required by the Community Charter. These meetings will be held in the Council Chamber of Town Hall (660 Primrose Street):
- February 7, 10am - Regular Council meeting (1st Bylaw Reading)
- February 28, 10am - Regular Council meeting (2nd & 3rd Bylaw Reading)
- March 13, 10am - Regular Council meeting (Bylaw Adoption)
Ways to Provide Input
Ways to engage in the planning process are as follows:
- Ask questions and provide input at the Committee of the Whole meetings.
