Featuring six local artists and 10 pieces of artwork, the Town will reveal its new street banner artwork at an artists’ event on May 22, where the public is invited to learn more about the artwork and the artists.
Through an open intake last December, the Town received over 100 submissions of banner artwork and ideas from artists across Vancouver Island. A review panel was developed including a member of Town Council, Town staff and representatives from The Old Schools House Arts Centre and Chamber of Commerce. The panel evaluated each submission, resulting in the final 10 artworks selected that will be proudly displayed across Qualicum Beach for years to come.
“This program was developed with the intention to celebrate the unique charm, natural landscape, and culture of Qualicum Beach,” shares Mayor Teunis Westbroek. “We are excited to share the artwork with our community and to recognize the artists.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the artists, their work, and their connection to Qualicum Beach. The featured artists are:

- Marion-Lea Jamieson
- Angie Ooms
- Sylvie Peltier
- Susan Schaefer
