Washington, DC -- It began with comments from the Vice President on the August 1 Ruthless Podcast that were picked up immediately by NewsNation and the New York Post. By Sunday evening the story was in fifteen news venues in five countries. The subject was UFOs or if you prefer UAPs.
“Like I’m obsessed with the whole UFO thing. ‘What’s actually going on?’ ‘What were those videos all about?’ ‘What’s actually happening?’”
“I haven’t gotten to the bottom of it yet but we’re only six months in, we’ve been very busy.”
“The August recess is in part me gonna try to dive to the bottom of the whole UFO thing from last year.”
Responding to Michael Duncan: “Once I get to the bottom of it, if there’s anything there, I’ll make sure you’re the first to know."
No president or vice president has ever said anything quite like this, which raises the question 'Why now?" The idea of using UFOs or UAP discussions as a distraction from other issues, such as the Epstein scandal, has been suggested in commentary and late-night shows.
Seth Meyers: "We’re just one Epstein story away from Trump announcing that UFOs are real."
Dean Baker: "Guess Vance hopes UFOs will distract from the Epstein scandal."
James Pindell, Boston Globe: "Amid controversy around Donald Trump not releasing Jeffrey Epstein files, in Roswell, N.M., some are asking about files of another kind."
Vice President Vance is not the only person within the President's sphere of influence making strong moves in the matter of UAPs. Five days before the inauguration of his father as President of the United States, Donald Trump, Jr. boldly featured the topic on his Triggered Podcast.
PRG expects this story to be picked up this Monday on the Drudge Report.
