Lake View Credit Union Announces Retirement of CEO Lori Archibald
Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge, BC – Lake View Credit Union today announced that Lori Archibald, its Chief Executive Officer, will retire after a distinguished 45-year career in the credit union system, including 8 years at the helm of Lake View Credit Union.
During her tenure, Archibald led the organization through a significant digital banking transformation, navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and championed hundreds of thousands of dollars in vital community investment initiatives, all while ensuring the credit union's continued profitability. Her leadership and vision have left a lasting impact on the organization and its members.
"Lori's dedication to our members, employees, and community has been inspiring," said John Kurjata, Board Chair. "Her commitment to living our credit union values and putting people first has been a hallmark of her leadership. We are grateful for her service and wish her and her family all the best in her well-deserved retirement."
Archibald's accomplishments are a testament to her enduring legacy. She is retiring, having left an indelible mark as a leader, and mentor and a colleague on credit unions across BC and Alberta, and having paved the way for future generations of leaders.
The Board of Directors are currently discussing options and possible innovative ideas to identify Archibald's successor. Kurjata stated that, “the Board is approaching this with eyes wide open around the difficulties attracting quality talent to a smaller credit union in a northern community. Finding someone who understands the role our credit union plays for our members, and in the communities we serve, is paramount.”
She will continue in the role until the end of June 2025, to ensure a smooth transition. In the interim, the organization remains committed to its members and the community, continuing to provide exceptional service and support.
