Changes to the Resource Center
Our resource center is still operating on a limited basis. We have been able to secure two days a week of existing support staff time to care for mailing and restocking of ordered items so that the Media Resource Center can function at a basic level but we need your help to navigate within the parameters this change creates.
Ways you can help
1) Please order your resources online
We no longer have a dedicated staff person who can immediately answer questions about resources or provide you will individual service. Our committee is currently working on ways we can be of service to you personally so be patient.
Ordering can be done by finding navigating to unyumc.org and clicking on the resource tab. Scroll to the Media Resource Center and you are only a click away from accessing our resources.
Our quick and easy online ordering is just a click away. You can add things to a "shopping cart", then once submitted, you'll receive an email with your invoice attached. We send your order through the USPS and we'll supply the mail back envelopes and label with instructions on mailing. Your only cost is the postage to return it. Please feel free to search our online catalog below.

2) Be patient and plan ahead
We utilize library class postage through the post office to mail your resources and since we only are mailing the packages one day a week, it may take longer for you to obtain your selections. Please plan accordingly for the delay.

3) Donate to help update our resources
If you are able consider a donation to the resource center. All the funds collected with go directly to purchasing updated materials to be shared around our conference. (see section below for details)

4) Join the team
Please send your name to the media resource center email to join the committe to help us maintain this valuable resource for all.
UNY Media Resource Center needs your support
Since the Upper New York Conference Media Resource Center does not have a budget for 2022 to purchase new resources, we are asking churches who have benefited from this ministry to support it with a financial contribution.

The committee for the Media Resource Center is asking if you could donate at least $100 toward purchasing new resources next year. If your church can contribute more than this, we would be grateful for your additional generosity. Your help is vital to keep this mission active and current. Click here for a letter from the committee.

You can make your check payable to the “Upper New York Conference,” and note it is for the “Media Resource Center” on the memo line. A gift by the end of the year would help us purchase Lenten resources for next year. Checks should be sent to The UNY Conference, 7481 Henry Clay Blvd, Liverpool, NY 13088.

We are also looking for volunteers to help us coordinate this ministry. Please contact any member of our committee for more information.

Borrow a Prayer Labyrinth

A 24' canvas labyrinth is available for the use of congregations, district‐led and conference‐led events. It is housed in the Media Resource Center and can be reserved by laity and clergy, individuals and groups by contacting the media resource center director.

DESCRIPTION OF LABYRINTH
The Abingdon à la Chartres™ design combines the Abingdon™ 6 circuit design from the Neo-Medieval™ series with proportionally appropriate elements reflecting the sacred geometry of the larger Chartres Replica™: the 4.5 to 1 path to line ratio, six lobed central rosette and perimeter lunations.
24’ diameter, aegean blue in color, weighs about 23 lb and stored in a wheeled suitcase

A copy of the DVD, Rediscovering the Labyrinth-A Walking Meditation, will be included with the labyrinth for background and reference.

RESERVATIONS/PICKUP & RETURN ‐ Scheduling for use of the labyrinth can be made through the Media Resource Center. The labyrinth may be signed out for a period of one week unless special arrangements are made. The labyrinth will not be mailed and must be picked up and returned in person.

SPACE/CARE ‐The labyrinth must be set up in a space appropriate for its size and which is secure at all times. Care must be taken for not only the time during the usage, but also throughout the time the labyrinth is on site. It is never to be set up outside. It is the responsibility of the group to return it in the same condition as checked out. Periodic examinations will be made to confirm the condition of care for the labyrinth. Care should also be made with the suitcase in which it is carried. Repairs needed are to be reported. The labyrinth is for indoor use only and should be placed on a clean surface. Socks are to be worn at all times on the labyrinth (no shoes); food or drinks are not allowed. Use of a CLEAN broom or a vacuum cleaner is encouraged before the labyrinth is packed for return.
Lent Study Suggestion

How do we walk with Christ—daily follow him, grow in him, and faithfully serve him? In the Gospels, Jesus modeled for us the Christian spiritual life. The apostles taught it in their writings. And the Church has, through the last 2,000 years, sought to pursue this Christian spiritual life.

In The Walk, Adam Hamilton focuses on five essential spiritual practices that are rooted in Jesus’ own walk with God and taught throughout the New Testament. Each of these practices is intended as part of our daily walk with Christ while also being an essential part of growing together in the church.

In each chapter, Hamilton explores one of these practices, its New Testament foundation, and what it looks like to pursue this practice daily in our personal life and together in the life of the church. Deepen your walk with Christ as we explore the five essential practices of worship, study, serving, giving, and bearing witness to our faith.

The Leader Guide contains everything needed to guide a group through the six-week study including session plans, activities, and discussion questions, as well as multiple format options.
