UNY Media Resource Center needs your support
Since the Upper New York Conference Media Resource Center does not have a budget for 2022 to purchase new resources, we are asking churches who have benefited from this ministry to support it with a financial contribution.

The committee for the Media Resource Center is asking if you could donate at least $100 toward purchasing new resources next year. If your church can contribute more than this, we would be grateful for your additional generosity. Your help is vital to keep this mission active and current. Click here for a letter from the committee.

You can make your check payable to the “Upper New York Conference,” and note it is for the “Media Resource Center” on the memo line. A gift by the end of the year would help us purchase Lenten resources for next year. Checks should be sent to The UNY Conference, 7481 Henry Clay Blvd, Liverpool, NY 13088.

We are also looking for volunteers to help us coordinate this ministry. Please contact any member of our committee for more information.

Bible Studies for a new year
The beginning of a new year is a popular time to dive into a new Bible study, as is Lent, which is coming up soon. During the pandemic when we may not be meeting in person, many United Methodist churches are offering online groups. Other United Methodists are going the independent study route, finding a book and moving through it at their own pace.

Whether you’re with a small group or going it alone, consider these recommendations from our friends at the United Methodist Publishing House. Click here for more information.
Study Suggestion
Draw the Circle by Mark Batterson - Mark Batterson states, “I believe prayer is the difference between the best you can do and the best God can do. It’s the difference between letting things happen and making things happen. It’s the difference between you fighting for God and God fighting for you.”

In this dynamic five-week church campaign, you and your church members will be challenged to take up the 40-day prayer challenge and press into God like never before. Using insightful stories and teaching, Mark will show how drawing circles in prayer will not only change your church members’ lives today but will also impact the rest of their lives.

This curriculum kit includes:

  • One Draw the Circle book
  • One Draw the Circle Study Guide
  • One Draw the Circle Video Study
  • One getting started guide
