Genesee, Idaho now home to America’s Fastest Home Internet with launch of Ziply® Fiber network and speeds up to 50 Gig

Kirkland, Washington (February 10, 2025) — Ziply® Fiber, home to America’s Fastest Home Internet, today announced that its new, ultra-high-speed, 100-percent fiber-optic network is ready for service in Genesee, Idaho. The ultra-fast network, with speeds ranging from 100 Mbps to 50 Gig, is available today to nearly all of the more than 400 being built across the city.

ImOn Communications Grows Fiber Internet Footprint in Six Communities, Gives Back $580,000 in 2024

(February 11, 2025) — ImOn Communications, a leading provider of fiber Internet services, announced today that the company significantly expanded its fiber Internet footprint and gave back over $580,000 to non-profits, community programs, and initiatives across its six service areas in 2024.  


The 2024 expansion efforts involved laying 265 miles (1.4 million linear feet) of fiber Internet cables in both new and existing service areas, representing a $67 million investment.

BEAD State Reports Roundup - February 12, 2025 Update

States having broadband coordination meetings occurring or planned are: Illinois, Maine, and Vermont. More details about the activities occurring in the states named above and those that follow can be found in updated state reports that are now posted on the BEAD State/Territory Implementation Tracker:  California, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Vermont.


Important updates in the reports include Maine’s BEAD Phase 2 application deadline. The original submission deadline was February 28; however, it has been extended to March 7, 2025 by 5:00 p.m. Kentucky’s Office of Broadband Development has re-opened the pre-application process for 30 days from February 11 through March 13, 2025. The re-opening of the pre-application process will allow additional prospective subgrantees to pre-qualify for future rounds and/or selections.

FCC v. Consumers’ Research (consolidated with SHLB Coalition v. Consumers’ Research) (March 26) – A challenge to a decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit that invalidated parts of a FCC program to improve internet and phone services in underserved areas. The court of appeals ruled that the program violated the Constitution by improperly delegating Congress’s power to the FCC and the FCC’s power to a private company.
