Next Week is Teacher Appreciation Week
In celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week next week (May 4 - 8) , we have asked students and their families to help us recognize and honor the amazing Jeffco teachers who positively impact the lives of the 84,000 students across our district.

We are encouraging our students and families to get creative through this week’s  Jeffco Makes activities which are focused on using a variety of ways to recognize teachers for the effort, attention, care, commitment, and instruction they deliver each day.

We will be collecting posts containing positive messages and shout-outs for our educators to share next week on social media and in Wednesday's Media Tips, but if you want to see what's being shared before Wednesday, check out social media and search #jeffcomakes and #thanksjeffcoteachers.
Let's Get Physical - Virtually
Adapted Athletics Holds Virtual Track Meet
As we have shared with you many times, our adapted athletics program is out of this world! And with remote learning, students who participated in those activities are missing these fun and inclusive events. But of course our dedicated Adapted Physical Education Coordinator Bryan Wickoren has stepped up to the challenge! Watch the virtual event how-to here , including how to set up homemade hurdles, how to have a 5-yard dash, a DIY softball throw, and an indoor long jump.
Jeffco Open School Conducts Virtual Field Day
The school's PE teacher has devised an ingenious way to celebrate Field Day despite the current constraints. Field Day events are posted in the “Specials” virtual classroom and students can participate by completing the activities and sharing p ictures and videos of each event in this gallery (extra credit point for parent commentator narratives!). Then families can c elebrate by printing ribbons, enjoying a celebratory meal, and basking in the glory of their Field Day victory!
Construction Continues...Wilmot Beam Raising: Tradition Goes Digital
Construction crews were the only ones to host a beam raising yesterday at Wilmot Elementary in Evergreen due to COVID-19 restrictions. The event signaled a big milestone in Jeffco voter- approved bond improvements at the school.

The community is excited and looking forward to the completion of this anticipated upgrade!
