March 25, 2020
We are currently on spring break, but we have many staff members working to get ready for next week, when we resume Remote Learning and Work on Tuesday, March 31. Monday, March 30 will be a teacher planning day and a catch-up day for students; no formal remote learning on Mondays.
Looking to report on remote learning?
Jeffco Public Schools was the first to implement Remote Learning and Work, and we made it through week one! We've asked, and many of our educators have put their name forward as willing to share their experience, lessons learned in week one, and plans for what happens next week (and beyond) when we return to remote learning - educators at all grade levels and representing many areas of curriculum, like
Art, Music, PE, Theatre
Early Childhood (PK)
Advanced Placement
Electives, Foreign Languages
Science, Robotics
Career and Technical Education like pre-med,
sports medicine, graphic design, culinary, and more
...to name just a few!
If any member of the media is interested in their stories, let me know! We are proud of the work taking place to continue to educate our students during this unique and unexpected situation.
Family and Community Engagement: JeffcoMakes!
We know social distancing is hard. In order to give our families and community fun ideas and activities to keep busy while staying home, we introduce JeffcoMakes! This is a n online platform to get everyone making, baking, and shaking ! We will be posting three different activities each week. Families can pick one (or all!) to do, and snap pics and video of their JeffcoMakes activities. We are excited to see these being shared using #jeffcomakes on social media, and we will feature their projects, activities, and creations each week. Let's get making, baking, and shaking, Jeffco!
Video from Jack: Courageous Creativity
We could all use a little something soothing now, right? Take a peek at the outstanding talent demonstrated by our students!
Jeffco's best student artists show they are unafraid to take risks as their work is highlighted at the 2020 Equity & Excellence Art Show. The show is made possible by the Jeffco Schools Foundation.
