Team of three USF Department of Medical Engineering students wins first prize in 2021 DEBUT Challenge 
Just three months after attending their graduation commencement ceremony together, USF Department of Medical Engineering alums Abby Blocker, Carolyna Yamamoto Alves Pinto and Jacob Yarinsky learned their submission for a national student design competition — a device capable of ventilating two people attached to the same ventilator — had won first prize. See what it took to design their device, the Eucovent, and the impact it could one day have on hospitals and healthcare providers in need of doubling their ventilation capacity.
                              
Flit-GAP Computing Scholarships for Graduate Students
Building on the S-STEM Florida IT Pathways to Success (Flit-Path), USF along with UCF and FIU have received funding for the S-STEM Flit-GAP (Florida IT Graduation Attainment Pathways), which will provide scholarships along with giving curricular and co-curricular support to academically talented but financially challenged students in the computing disciplines.
Bulls-EYE Mentoring Program Goes Online
Introduced in 2014, the Bulls-EYE Mentoring program successfully promotes STEM by delivering engineering problem solving to middle school students within a family-friendly environment.
CI Fellows
Two doctoral students in Computer Science and Engineering have received the 2021 Computing Innovation CI Fellowships sponsored by the Computing Research Association (CRA) and the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) with the support from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
USF Civil and Environmental Engineering Student Team Wins Florida Water Environment Association Student Design Competition 
A team of five USF civil and environmental engineering students created a roadmap for the City of St. Petersburg to help restore Lassing Park's water quality and coastline.
