BILINGUAL? CONSIDER A CAREER AS A MEDICAL INTERPRETER  
CLASSES STARTING SOON AT MASSASOIT COMMUNITY COLLEGE

In an increasingly multicultural society, medical interpreters are in demand in almost every type of healthcare setting. Employers are seeking multilingual individuals who can demonstrate fluency in English as well as other languages. While individuals who are bilingual may have the foundation to become professional interpreters, they are required to have a medical interpreting training course in medical terminology, ethics, and medical procedures and protocols, all of which are included in our medical interpreting courses.

TRAINING

While individuals who are bilingual may have the foundation to become professional interpreters, they are required to have a medical interpreting training course in medical terminology, ethics, and medical procedures and protocols.
CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

The course meets the certification criteria established by the National Board of 
Certification and prepares interpreters to take the National Certification Test. Students 
will receive a certificate of completion from the community college.
HIGH DEMAND

Hospitals, community health centers/clinics, governmental health agencies, social 
services providers, insurance companies, school systems and translation and 
interpreter services agencies.
TRAINING

Contact the community college where you want to take the course. Because language 
skills must be assessed before being accepted into the course, students must register 
at  least two weeks in advance.
