Per our email dated 11.15.2020, we informed you that the Governor declared that “medically necessary massage therapy” is essential should regions enter the Orange and/or Red Cluster Zones. So, what does that mean for you as a LMT? We have put together a graph that we hope simply explains the rules, laws, and expectations that are listed at this time. Please note that we cannot advise you above the guidelines NYS has put forth. We can only provide you with the facts at hand.

We acknowledge that there has been contradicting information written by other organizations. However, AMTA is the only organization representing NYS LMTs that has a dedicated NYS Lobbyist, and our Lobbyist has confirmed that the information we have provided is accurate and true.

As always, we will notify you when more information, guidelines, and/or regulations evolve.
Be Well and Stay Safe,

Lindsay Bodkin, LMT,and the GR Team
