The Critical Month for 2025 Tax Maneuvers | |
The deadline for several critical actions is December 31, 2025.
Mandatory Deadlines to Note:
-
Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs): If you are age 73 or older by the end of 2025, you must complete your RMD withdrawal by December 31st to avoid a substantial IRS penalty.
-
Roth IRA Conversions: The conversion must be complete by December 31st to be taxed in the 2025 tax year. This is a crucial move for future tax planning.
-
Charitable Giving: All charitable contributions intended for a 2025 itemized deduction must be completed and postmarked by year-end.
-
Final Actions: Ensure any final contributions to employer-sponsored retirement plans (401(k), 403(b)) are made to maximize tax-deferred growth for the 2025 tax year.
