Medication Technician
If you are a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) working in the field and would like to broaden your skills as well as your employment possibilities in assisted living facilities, register for classes to become a Medication Technician.
Once certified, as a Medication Technician, you will serve an important role in long-term care facilities by helping distribute medications and monitoring for adverse reactions. |
You will learn:
- Perform proper dispensing techniques with 100% accuracy
- Explain and perform proper medication documentation techniques, EMR, electronic medical accuracy
- Recognize common medical errors related to dispensing medications
- Recognize and explain the signs and symptoms of medication interaction
- Measure and demonstrate competency in taking vital signs
- Demonstrate proper use of medication records
- Explain the means of medication forms, route of administration, and general medical abbreviations
