2025 Successes from the Chromosome 18 Clinical Research Center

As we look back on an amazing year, here are a few highlights that show just how much we accomplished together in 2025:

  • A record year of support: In 2025, the Chromosome 18 Registry proudly contributed $357,000 to support research at the Chromosome 18 Clinical Research Center.
  • Going above and beyond: Thanks to our incredible community of families, this total exceeded our budgeted goal by $90,000, allowing the CRC to expand and strengthen its research efforts.
  • Our research family is growing: In 2025, 26 new families joined the CRC’s lifetime longitudinal research study, bringing our total enrolled families to 750.
  • Spotlight on San Antonio science: Texas Public Radio recently featured Dr. Jannine Cody in a Science & Medicine segment highlighting the CRC’s groundbreaking work. Listen here: https://www.tpr.org/podcast/petrie-dish/2026-01-18/science-medicine

Together, these milestones give us great hope for the year ahead and for the continued progress of chromosome 18 research.

This month, Dr. Cody shares her article about medication and its role in the longitudinal research study at the Chromosome 18 Clinical Research Center. Please enjoy the article below:

That commitment is to participate in an ongoing basis by responding to questionnaires and requesting that medical records be sent to us. We try to make it as easy as possible...
