Medina County Commissioners CARES Act Grant Announcement
Medina County Commissioners have voted to allocate $1.5 million dollars in CARES Act funds to support a small business grant program.

Businesses are eligible if they are in Medina County, have fewer than 50 employees, and have less than $1.5 million in revenue. These grants are a one-time payment made to your business and will not have to be paid back.

Grants are available up to $10,000 and are to cover reimbursable expenses. You will need to state the expenses to be covered in your application, and certify you will spend the money on those expenses at the time you receive your check.

Expenses can include:
  • Purchase of personal protective equipment
  • Benefits paid to furloughed employees
  • Rent, utilities, etc. incurred during the shutdown
  • Other expenses incurred due to COVID-19 and/or the mandated shutdown

Application period opens Monday, July 20 th and closes August 14, 2020 at 4:00pm. If someone chooses to complete the application before the period opens, they may have to provide additional materials if the application changes between now and then. Also, if a company wants a paper application that can be requested, but they will be required to submit the final document electronically via email.

Once you complete an application available at www.medinacounty.org/small-business-grant-program/ , applications will be reviewed for completeness and anyone not qualifying based on their application will be informed immediately. When an application is moved through to the next phase they will also receive an email. You will receive a confirmation email as to your eligibility within 48 hours of receipt.

The committee will receive applications submitted from July 20, 2020 to August 14, 2020 at 4:00pm. They will meet the week of August 17th to make awards.
