What's Happening at ISD Oneonta?
- Tonight, Thursday September 30th, 5:30pm-7pm is Part 2of the three part class, Meditation for Mystics, Healers, and Seers Details on the class below in the Adult Education section. This is a required class for our ISD Healing Certification program and our Intuitive Practitioner Program. Find details on the Healing Certification Program Here
- *Cancelled* Midday at the Oasis this Friday, October 8th has been cancelled, but we look forward to visiting with you all on October 22nd....Same bat-time, same bat-station....Come on out- we look forward to social time with you!
- October 22nd will be the last Midday at the Oasis, for the winter and the membership committee will be brainstorming some other ideas for fun gatherings over the winter- We want to hear your ideas for get togethers!

Midday at the Oasis

There is no Midday at the Oasis on October 8th, but we look forward to visiting with you all on October 22nd.
FACETIME!
No, actually, in person- We wanna see your face (its been a long COVID separation!) at the new Lotus Center at the home of Tom Landon.
The Oasis & the gardens are beautiful and ready for you.
Come for casual conversation, light lunch, laughter, and library time with ISD friends and members, and the Pastor, Diana Friedell. We will be POOLSIDE in the good weather, bring your suit if you’d like, and a dish to pass if possible. Please let Tom know in advance that you will be attending by emailing him, tflandon51@gmail.com. If you need directions, he will send them!
The spa is now available in addition to the pool.....just another feature of this five-star resort! So come, swim, soak in the hot tub, and enjoy the company!

Meditation for Mystics, Healers, and Seers
A required class for our upcoming Intuitive Practitioner Program and for those in the Healing Certification Program (the class is free for those enrolled in the Healing Certification program)
Meditation is a self-care practice that allows us to quiet our minds, calm our physical bodies, and go within to reach a heightened level of awareness. This three-part class looks at the art, the history, the science, and the magic of meditation from three unique perspectives.
Join Rev. Diana, Rev. Story, and Rev. Renee as they lead you on a journey towards discovering the benefits and joys of meditation for yourself.
Whether you are a beginner looking to develop a deeper connection to yourself and your own divinity, or whether you are an experienced meditator looking for tips to strengthen your existing practices, this class is for you.

Self-care for Lightworkers
A required class for the ISD Oneonta Healing Certification Program, but open to everyone
Self-care for Lightworkers is an in-person 3 part series that will give students exposure to valuable resources and practices to be able to do just that....self-care. Kimberly Winsor, LMT, RPP teaches body and energy centered approaches to creating and maintaining clear, positive energy in yourself and your work environment, whether you are an energy healer, providing healing sessions for friends & family, or accessing your intuition for to provide intuitively received messages. Classes taught in person at ISD Oneonta headquarters.

Chakras: The Spiritual Growth Highway
A required class for the ISD Oneonta Healing Certification Program, but open to everyone
Chakras form our energy anatomy. When clear of blockages, they keep us healthy and balanced. In this two-part class JoAnn Wormuth, Master Energy Healer, leads us to discover the meaning and purpose of each chakra. We will learn to address & clear any impurities in our own energy system. There will be energy exercises & as well as self-discovery and healing meditations

ASTROLOGY FORCAST (Oct 6 -15)
Pluto begins its forward motion in Capricorn on Wednesday. The New Moon joins in to encourage us to slowly move forward with some of the incites we have reached in these many months of contemplation.
Saturn resumes forward motion in Aquarius on Sunday October 10th. Saturn's taskmaster flavor softens now. Its energies of self-critical analysis will shift more toward an acknowledgment of personal strengths and how they may work for us in new ways. Aquarius energies will partner with Pluto's broad sweep of influence that includes entire populations and generations.
You may find your mind and emotions entertaining ideas that will more easily conclude with positive results for many, rather than the "winner takes all" posture that has categorized our world for so long.
The Milky Way Galaxy is steadily moving into a new part of the universe, while our Solar System constantly revolves in patterns we can discern and anticipate. What we cannot know is how the new position of the entire galaxy will influence our "neighborhood." We can, however, reach a few conclusions that will be a loving guide in the coming days, months, and years.
The Pisces Age that we have recently concluded heavily focused on individual talents and accomplishments. How far can we go? What can we achieve? This had its purpose and its day. We were learning about ourselves and our abilities. The focus was inward with, perhaps, not a full enough regard for the consequences and results for the whole of life.
The Aquarian Age asks us to look up and out. How are my neighbors and fellow lifeforms on the planet doing? Are they well? Is this a world in which all are truly thriving?
" Let us redefine progress to mean that just because we can do a thing, it does not necessarily follow that we must do that thing." (Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country) I believe this can serve as a wonderful guiding thought for our new World View. Must we do something? How does it affect the whole of life?
The area of the Universe we are moving into is increasing in vibration. This provides us with expansive ideas and abilities to create in new ways that are good for the whole of life - which, of course, includes you. The individual still thrives, and so does everyone!
The sacred geometrical movements of the planets and stars beam benevolent energy toward us. The outer planets with their massive magnetic fields have been asking us to rethink our lives, relationships, and goals.
Now those planets ask us to begin, and/or continue our creations in new ways. The next few weeks and months will see more outer planets resume forward motion with softer, kinder influences. We are invited to do the same. I wish you Godspeed everyone.

And the Good News Is!!!!!
- Willa and Charles Bruce built the first West Coast resort for black people in 1912, during forced segregation. After the owners faced racism and harassment and even an attempt to burn the resort down, they were still very successful. But the city council eventually used eminent domain to take the land from the Bruce’s in the 1920’s. Nearly a century later the land is in the process of being returned to the couple’s descendants and is seen as an event that may be the beginning of broader reparations to citizens treated unfairly. - Listen to the music of the Universe! A Belgian mathematician has created an electronic music album derived from data gathered from black holes. Check out the Self On Health article Here and make sure that you listen to the fascinating music.
- And speaking of space…it seems that Captain Kirk is finally heading to ‘the final frontier’. This BBC article talks about the fact that 90-year old William Shatner is planning on heading into space on October 12th.

Just a reminder that we are continuing our Prayer Warriors group, every day at 5pm we pause to pray and send our healing energies where they are most needed right now
Each day at 5 PM EST, we will pause for about 10 minutes and meditate and pray with the intention of sending healing energy to all.
You do not have to be present each day. Requests for healing or suggestions should be submitted to our Healing Program director, Jo Ann Wormuth at the below ISD website link:

What is the Institute for Spiritual Development?
It's both a metaphysical church and an educational center originally founded 40 yrs ago in Sparta, NJ. With the belief that all paths lead us Home, ISD is dedicated to helping each spirit walk their path with courage and joy.
We stand for each individual’s right to seek their own personal Truth, as they respect the same right for others. We honor the sacred texts of all traditions of the Light.
The Oneonta NY chapter of ISD was Lovingly created by Rev. Diana Friedell & her sister Rev. Sue Landon. We are now led by a powerful leadership team, and executive board.
ISD is a spiritual community that focuses on healing and intuitive connection, and the joy of finding the spirit connection within rather than being told how it should or could be experienced.
We welcome those who want to belong to a spiritual group of like-minded people, in which you can explore and find your own path in a community of love and support.
There are classes, services, events, and a sense of community and fellowship. Energy healing and intuitive messages are delivered as a regular part of the worship service. Classes offer many tools which will help you on your life path, and the community we are creating together is one of openness and acceptance, and the ability to adapt with change and growth.
