|Dr. Brenda Porter and family
Dr. Porter received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and her MD and PhD at Washington University, St. Louis. During her medical training, Dr. Porter carried out her pediatric residency at the St. Louis Children's Hospital and her pediatric neurology and epilepsy fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Outside of work, Dr. Porter enjoys spending time with her husband of twenty-three years who she met in medical school, and her two children, ages 14 and 18. She loves
gardening, bird watching, camping, and watching Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Dr. Porter is currently an Associate Professor of Neurology at Stanford Medical Center. Her research focuses on preventing epilepsy and discovering new treatments. Dr. Porter specializes in taking care of children with difficult-to-treat epilepsy. She has been involved with the Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California since 2012 and now serves as
a member of the EFNC
Professional Advisory Board.
Dr. Porter is a big supporter of EFNC's youth programs including Mighty Mike Basketball Camp and Camp Coelho. She volunteered for our first-ever Mighty Mike Basketball Camp as the onsite physician
