Maritza's tenure at UCSF has allowed her to support patients in several ways. She advises, assists, and coordinates care for patients seen in the clinic. More recently, Maritza's focus has been coordinating care for patients undergoing video EEG and for those interested in the possibility of pursuing surgery. Maritza is also fluent in Spanish, which provides the opportunity for the Spanish-Speaking community to have an advocate in obtaining proper epilepsy care.
"I am passionate about my job and always strive to help in any way I can!" -- Maritza Lopez
Maritza and son, Nicholas
Maritza holds a special place in her heart for San Francisco--she was born, raised and currently lives in the Bay Area. She grew up in a family of eight (five sisters!) and has a son whom she is very proud of--a senior in college! Maritza enjoys challenging herself and taking fun classes at City College of San Francisco such as guitar and Spanish. She enjoys exercising, traveling, reading, listening to music (especially 70's!), cheering on the 49ers, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
