ALI is hosting a book talk and reception with Founding Chair & Director Rosabeth Moss Kanter to celebrate the release of her newest book: Think Outside the Building: How Advanced Leaders Can Change the World One Smart Innovation at a Time. The event will take place on Friday, March 6 from 4:15–6:15pm.

Lisa Macpherson (2019) is putting out a call to CMOs to ensure technology development is aligned with the public interest. Ms. Macpherson was profiled in Forbes for her efforts to help marketers align their investments with personal well-being, civil society, and a strong democracy.

Andy Sommer (2019) will become the inaugural general counsel for The Center for Reproductive Rights. In this role, Mr. Sommer will serve on the center's executive team and oversee all legal, compliance, and risk management matters.

Mads Asprem (2017) and NewAfrica Impact have been selected as one of three fund developers for the Fall 2019 cohort of the International Climate Finance Accelerator, Luxembourg. NewAfrica Clean Energy Fund will establish a platform of modern bio-energy plants in Africa.

Surjit Chana (2017) led a discussion at NY Media's Nonprofit BoardCon event on best practices on governance and nonprofit boards. The event was attended by over 300 board directors and executive directors/CEOs of nonprofits.

Mark Mantovani (2016) is again running for St. Louis County Executive. Mr. Mantovani recently announced his candidacy for the position, highlighting his goals to improve safety and create job opportunities for the region.

Judy Perry Martinez (2015) is defending the role of prosecutors and the judiciary. Ms. Perry Martinez, the president of the American Bar Association, gave a speech at the organization's midyear meeting calling for an end to personal attacks on judges and lawyers.

Torsten Thiele (2014) is thinking outside the building to solve big environmental problems. Mr. Thiele and his Global Ocean Trust were recently featured on HBR Presents, alongside ALI Founding Chair & Director Rosabeth Moss Kanter.

Dennis Scholl (2012) is working to meet the needs of visual artists and the broader Miami community. Mr. Scholl, CEO of Oolite Arts, announced that the organization is building a new campus to increase its offerings for artists and community members.

ALI Faculty Chair Meredith Rosenthal (SPH) is shedding light on what healthcare reform would mean for Massachusetts hospitals. In an article for WBUR , Prof. Rosenthal explains that any changes to the healthcare system would inevitably lead to winners and losers.

ALI Executive Committee Member Howard Koh (SPH/HKS) says that "anchor institutions" can help boost health in communities. In a recent analysis, Dr. Koh explains that these large health organizations can lead needs assessments, prioritize initiatives, and align strategies to address social challenges.

ALI Founding Chair & Director Rosabeth Moss Kanter (HBS) is helping leaders overcome paralysis and produce innovation for a better world. Prof. Kanter delivered a talk at HBS' Baker Library this month on her new book, Think Outside the Building.

ALI Executive Committee Member Forest Reinhardt (HBS) chaired the 2020 Climate Change Deep Dive . Prof. Reinhardt convened experts from across Harvard University to share their knowledge on climate change with the 2020 ALI Cohort.
