ABRAKADOODLE® ANNOUNCES NEWEST FRANCHISE LOCATION:

ABRAKADOODLE MD: WESTERN MARYLAND

Benjamin & Alyssa Kapinos acquire art education franchise, launching children’s art and creativity programs.

STERLING, VA, May 23, 2025 Abrakadoodle is pleased to welcome new franchise owners Benjamin & Alyssa Kapinos (photo, left) of Frederick, MD. The husband/wife duo are launching their art education franchise that will serve Western Maryland, including Frederick, Hagerstown, Westminster, Eldersburg, Reisterstown and surrounding areas. Abrakadoodle Western Maryland will bring creative, mobile art programs to benefit children in the community. Abrakadoodle’s award-winning visual arts classes, camps, workshops, in-school field trips, special events and arty parties are delivered at schools, community centers and other community sites.

Mrs. Kapinos has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and psychology and a master’s in occupational therapy. She has experience serving children in both academic and outpatient settings. She also has experience in Human Resources, which has given her a strong foundation in communication, organization and working with diverse teams. Mrs. Kapinos said, “I appreciate that Abrakadoodle gives us the chance to give back to the community by supporting children and their families. Abrakadoodle programs offer a great opportunity for children to come together and engage in something positive, helping to strengthen community bonds while encouraging lifelong learning.”

Mr. Kapinos holds degrees in economics and community planning. His professional career has allowed him to build relationships and work in business development. He has recently spent time as a stay-at-home father, experiencing firsthand the needs of parents and young children. When asked what he feels Abrakadoodle will bring to their community he remarked, “Our communities in Western Maryland represent a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, and I believe Abrakadoodle will provide possibilities for all these different families through the diversity of programs available. The opportunity for children to develop skills and express themselves through process art is invaluable.”

When asked why they decided to become Abrakadoodle franchise owners, they both cited the extent of support franchise owners receive, Mrs. Kapinos saying, “The fact that Abrakadoodle provides its franchisees with a strong foundation for success—and genuinely prioritizes a warm, welcoming environment that feels like family—is what inspired me to want to be part of it all.”

“We are delighted to welcome Alyssa and Benjamin to our award-winning Abrakadoodle franchise system,” said Rosemarie Hartnett, CFE, President and Co-Founder of Abrakadoodle, Inc. “They are a dynamic couple who sincerely care about their community. Together they bring a winning combination of child-focused, relationship-building and business development skills to their new Abrakadoodle franchise business.”

Abrakadoodle academic art programs are offered at more charter schools, elementary schools and pre-K programs than any other program. Schools that partner with Abrakadoodle gain a comprehensive academic art program that allows students to experience a wide variety of materials, techniques and styles. Students use specialty art materials, learn about contemporary and master artists, work in two and three dimensions, explore art from around the world and much more. A team of experienced artists and educators design the Abrakadoodle curriculum to provide a balanced program that sequentially builds both skills and knowledge. In addition to its art education programs, Abrakadoodle offers creative art programs made specifically for adults, called Art Splash, for social art parties and events.
