IC Focus of the Week - Naturalization
Kyaw Maung was in danger of having her naturalization petition denied and her green card revoked. She was demoralized and had all but given up. Fortunately, the LUM Immigration Clinic stepped in, meticulously examining her case and submitting the necessary documentation. As a result, Kyaw's petition received approval, and she has since become a proud US citizen, contributing significantly as a valued employee within a local business.
Naturalization enables people from all over the world who have chosen Indiana as the place they want to live and raise their children to become full-fledged citizens and Hoosiers. Forty-one percent of immigrants in Indiana are naturalized citizens, and another 20% are eligible to be naturalized - if only they had someone to guide them through the process.
In 2023, the LUM Immigration Clinic helped 17 people apply for Naturalization. That's 17 new Hoosiers, ready to help our state flourish. Without LUM, they might never have filed the application. To donate NOW, click HERE.

LUM After School Program Needs Snacks!
LUM relies on the generosity of donors to sustain the LUM After School Program, which serve as crucial resources for the educational and nutritional needs of children in our community. Among the most valued donations are healthy snacks, providing essential nourishment to support the students’ growth and learning. Fresh fruit, yogurt cups, and granola bars are just a few examples of items that help fuel young minds and bodies during after-school sessions.
In addition to snacks, donations of cleaning supplies and basic necessities like toilet paper and disinfectant wipes are welcome as well. Whether you choose to contribute healthy snacks, cleaning supplies, or other needed items, your generosity helps create a nurturing and supportive environment where children can thrive academically and socially. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of the students and families served by the LUM After School Program.
