Start making your appointments on the
mobile medical clinic now!
| |
All Care Health Center welcomes families to utilize our mobile healthcare unit. The mobile health care unit will re-open at Thomas Jefferson High School on August 23 – the first day of school – and will be available Tuesdays through Fridays for your family’s convenience. Student families are encouraged to make back-to-school appointments by calling (712) 325-1990.
The mobile healthcare unit offers primary medical care and psychiatric mental healthcare services. Services are not just for students but also families and school staff.
The biggest family benefit of All Care’s mobile medical clinic at TJ is that students can see a provider at school. Parents do not have to take time off work, so no transportation is needed. If a medical need arises, the school nurse can contact the student’s family and help schedule an appointment.
To make this process smooth, All Care encourages families to plan ahead. Even if you don’t think your child will ever need to use our mobile medical services, please complete the new patient and consent paperwork, turn it into your school nurse, or bring it to the mobile health unit during the back-to-school night on August 21. Pre-signed consent forms let the school nurse schedule your student for an unplanned and urgent visit; you will still be contacted. Student packets are located online in both English and Spanish.

Meet our new dental hygienist, Celeste Guevara, RDH!
Celeste Guevara brings her distinct passion for assisting vulnerable populations with dental care. Celeste brought six years of dental experience with her as she began as a dental hygienist at All Care in June.
Celeste grew up in Dallas, Texas, and moved to Omaha, Nebraska, to study dental hygiene prerequisites at the University of Nebraska at Omaha while working as a dental assistant. Following these studies, Celeste attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in Lincoln, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene.
Celeste speaks both English and Spanish and is excited to meet her new patients at All Care.

Unanimous, bipartisan Iowa support of the recent bill, HF 423, is poised to help maintain the integrity of the 340B program that is critical for ensuring that Iowans, particularly populations seeking healthcare at community health centers and rural areas, can continue access to affordable medications. The bill will be effective July 1, 2023, and will help All Care Health Center continue fulfilling its nonprofit mission to provide affordable, comprehensive, and high-quality healthcare to the entire community.
The 340B Drug Pricing Program, created in 1992, is a United States federal government program that requires drug manufacturers to provide significant discounts, reimbursements, and reduced prices for outpatient drugs to eligible healthcare organizations, many of which are safety-net providers who treat high percentages of uninsured or low-income patients. The program enables certain healthcare providers to stretch scarce resources to reach more eligible patients and to provide more comprehensive services. The 340B program is administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration, an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services. The agency provides oversight and conducts audits of covered entities, as well as manufacturers.
All Care Health Center patients come to us seeking equitable primary medical care, mental healthcare, and dental care. Each patient depends upon All Care Health Center to meet their specific health needs, including the need for high-quality prescription medicines to combat comorbidities. All Care dispenses over 20,000 prescriptions annually to vulnerable patients living in southwest Iowa. Prescription orders filled with covered outpatient drugs, obtained through the 340B program, enable All Care to follow through on delivering affordable care. Maintaining the 340B program is critical for ensuring these patients have ongoing access to affordable medications.
All Care Health Center appreciates all the work that goes into passing legislation that assists in their mission to provide affordable care to their patients.

All Care Staff Supports the Trevor Project
|
Early this summer, All Care’s social committee sold PRIDE t-shirts following an in-house design contest. Each purchased shirt included a donation to The Trevor Project. This nonprofit provides information and support to LGBTQ young people 24 hours a day, each day of the week, year-round. As a part of this service, teens and young adults can call, text, or chat with a trained counselor if they are thinking about suicide or simply feeling lonely.
The Trevor Project includes an online resource center to allow youth to explore topics surrounding gender identity, sexual orientation, and the mental health needs accompanying those topics. Teens and young adults can also connect and converse with others through the international TrevorSpace community for LGBTQ young people. The Trevor Project includes best practice resources surrounding support through dialogue for adults. This is the second year the All Care Health Center social committee has chosen to support this nonprofit.

One More Reason to Work at All Care Health Center
|
The National Health Service Corps (NHSC), managed by the Health Resources and Services Administration, builds healthy communities by supporting qualified healthcare providers dedicated to working in areas of the United States with limited access to care. NHSC sites work tirelessly to prevent disease and illness while increasing access to mental health and opioid use disorder treatment. As an active NHSC site, All Care Health Center provides care to patients regardless of their ability to pay for services.
By working at an NHSC site, eligible primary medical, dental, and behavioral health providers can qualify for scholarships and loan repayment programs. As a part of the NHSC Loan Repayment Program, these eligible providers can be awarded up to $50,000 in exchange for a two-year commitment to provide primary medical, dental, or mental/behavioral health care. The NHSC Substance Use Disorder Workforce Loan Repayment Program offers eligible providers up to $75,000 in exchange for a three-year commitment to providing SUD treatment. All Care Health Center is also an eligible site for those completing years of service to meet the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program requirements.
Currently, All Care Health Center is seeking a physician. This position would qualify for the NHSC loan repayment program. HRSA does not guarantee funding awards.
