Cobb Justice Foundation Gets New Director: Meet Amanda Moulthrop
|
We are excited to introduce Amanda Moulthrop, the newest director of the Cobb Justice Foundation.
Amanda was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and grew up in northwest Georgia. She attended the University of Georgia, where she received a B.S. in education in 2001 and a J.D. in 2004. She worked for a small plaintiff's firm, before becoming a staff attorney with Legal Aid of Cobb County , where she had interned while in law school. After taking a five years hiatus from the practice of law, wherein she had 2 children and helped her husband with his business, she returned to Legal Aid as a screening attorney. This past January, she was offered the position as the Director of the Cobb Justice Foundation. Having had the background as a Legal Aid attorney, particularly in the Cobb office, it was a perfect fit.
Amanda's primary goal this year is to increase publicity of the CJF. "The Cobb Justice Foundation is the best kept secret in Cobb County, but a secret we would like to keep no more," she says. To that end, she hopes to promote more recognition for CJF volunteers in all areas of the media, and to make the Cobb Justice Foundation a recognized resource for the indigent of Cobb County who need legal assistance. In addition, Amanda hopes to increase volunteer participation and to continue to promote several programs already in place through the CJF.
Amanda lives in Cobb County with her husband, Matt, and is the busy mom to a six-year-old daughter, Reed, and a 6-month-old son, Jasper. She is also an indoor cycling instructor and an avid runner, having just completed her first 15K this past January.
