Trojan athletes scoring big with community service

On Sept. 2, just before Auburn University's much-anticipated home opening football game for the 2023 season, the Southeastern Center of Robotics Education (SCORE) rolled out the red carpet for four special visitors from Carrollton High School's girls basketball team — Madison Swint, Madison Reese, Daija Preston, and Seriya Williams.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at CUES

It is Hispanic Heritage Month and Mrs. Meigs' fourth-grade students kicked off the occasion with an engaging research project. They studied the lives of renowned Hispanic figures, uncovering details about each individual. Their projects are being showcased in the hallway at Carrollton Upper Elementary School.

CMS students create artwork symbolizing diversity and unity

The Carrollton Middle School Science Club held its first meeting of the year this week. Students worked on painting pieces of a friendship pot that the University of West Georgia will put back together. Each student painted a piece of a communal puzzle, reflecting their heritage, passions, and hobbies.

Third grade students had the opportunity to tour the Mabry Arts Center this week. Pictured in the sound booth from left are Jasper Cleek, Elijah Tickner, Cooper Rayburn, John Snyder, Ka'Leah Lockett, and Brianna Scarbrough.

Trojans behind-the-scenes

Third graders took a special visit to the Mabry Center of the Arts. Students are building props and costumes for productions during their performing arts academy this year. The kids toured with Carrollton High School performing arts teacher Tommy Cox's drama classes to learn all about the ins and outs of show business this week.

CHS Debate had strong showing at tournament last weekend

The Carrollton High School debate team competed at Alpharetta High School over the weekend and won first place. Head Coach Richard Bracknell said, "I want to give a special shout-out to Zooey Bush and Eden Long for being first and second speakers respectively."

Hector helps mobilize recovery

The Mobilize Recovery Across Georgia rally was held Wednesday at The Amp downtown to celebrate National Recovery Month. The Recovery Spot of West Georgia was one of the 43 stops in communities across the state during the Mobilize Recovery Across Georgia Bus Tour.
