Do you know what it takes to become an entrepreneur?
According to Harvard Business School, innovation goes hand in hand with entrepreneurship. Some of the most successful companies have taken an existing product and improved it to meet the changing needs of the market. In Undercover Snacks, that’s exactly what happened.
Founder and CEO Diana Levy, a stay-at-home mom, decided in 2013 to take her passion for making chocolates for family and friends to the next level. But when Diana started her own confections company to make traditional chocolates for gifts, she was shocked that most recipes called for high fructose corn syrup and lots of sugar. Because she loved chocolate but also wanted to make a product, she would be happy to give to her own children, she began experimenting with a variety of different healthy ingredients to layer with chocolate that would rely less on sugar and more on unique flavors and textures. During this time, two of her daughters were diagnosed with Celiac disease, leading Diana to zero in even further on making healthy better- for-you chocolates that everyone could enjoy without compromise. When those experiments led to layering crispy quinoa with premium, high quality chocolate, there was no question that Diana had hit upon a new sweet spot for healthy treats, and Undercover Snacks was born!
