15 year old Gladys is the oldest of three girls and has a dream to become a successful business woman someday. She is hoping to get accepted into school but has little time to study because most of her time is spent collecting water.

In her words..."Clean water would greatly change my life. The water I collect is from a pond where goats and cows come to drink. People wash clothes in it and end up letting the soap water run back in the well. Sometimes kids play in it so we as a community are prone to diseases such as cholera and typhoid. I am focusing on the only chance that God has given me to go to school because I want to change the life of my family, and I want a bright future as well. Sometimes I read my books since I am a candidate for school, but I seem to not have enough time because I move [walk] about 4 km to fetch water from the well, and I fetch water 3-5 times a day. Days when we have visitors, it becomes tense because I often do it over 8 times. I started carrying water when I was about 6 years old."
