Federation's J-Now ushers in
a new era for young adults

The Jewish Federation of Ottawa’s Young Adults division is entering a new chapter as it becomes J-Now, a hub for engagement, leadership, and connection to Jewish life. The initiative will offer young adults new grants, leadership opportunities, and a pathway to giving through the StartUp donor society, as well as a new online platform to strengthen their connection to the community.

Medication Association builds a stronger community for Jewish healthcare workers

The Jewish Medical Association of Ontario (JMAO) is creating community and advocating for Jewish healthcare professionals facing antisemitism in the workplace. Ahead of its September 17 “Safe & Proud” event in Ottawa, JMAO’s Robyn Berman discusses the organization’s origins, its rapid growth and the importance of bringing Jewish healthcare workers and students together to support one another.

From student to director: David Anzarouth begins a new chapter at OTT@KBI

David Anzarouth is returning to his roots as the new director of Ottawa Talmud Torah supplementary school at Kehillat Beth Israel (OTT@KBI). A former OTT student himself, Anzarouth brings a lifelong connection to Jewish education and community life to the role. He hopes to strengthen the school’s educational pathway, improve communication with families, and create engaging Jewish experiences for students and families.

Jewish Ottawans receive commemorative coins as city marks 200th anniversary

As Ottawa celebrates its 200th anniversary, members of the Jewish community are among those honoured with commemorative coins for their leadership and contributions. Federation leaders David Sachs, Danya Vered and Adam Silver, along with Rabbi Idan Scher and others, were recognized for strengthening Ottawa, representing the Jewish community, and fostering meaningful connections across the city.
