Hi all, my name is Janie Machinchick and I live in Dunedin, a beautiful beach town on the west coast of Florida. I am very grateful to be part of this caring and creative community of SoulCollagers here at Kindred Spirits! I am also grateful to have the opportunity to share my story.

I first heard of SoulCollage through a magical astrologer, shaman-teacher, Michele Grace, who incorporated the process into her courses, workshops and consultations. I was instantly hooked and I started making cards in August of 2015. Within two months, I was enrolled in a Facilitator class taught by Catherine Anderson. I’ve been creating cards and delving deeper into SoulCollage® and the many aspects of myself since then.

At the time, I had a very intense job in tech marketing. It took much of my time, and all my energy. I was burned out and tired. All. The. Time.

SoulCollage® took me from the stressed-out-left-brain life back to my creative, artsy side which had been left behind in the crazy demands of the corporate world. SoulCollage® became the tool to bring me back to center when my life was tipped extremely out of balance. It saved my sanity.

Fast forward seven years, and I am still working in tech marketing, but I have learned to be more balanced in my work and personal life. I am still creating cards, although not as often as I would wish. Daily readings have allowed me to slow down and take time to look within. There are days when I am absolutely amazed at the messages that are hidden within the cards, and I have learned to approach the readings with wonder, excitement and reverence.

The biggest hurdle I had to face when first making cards was the feeling that I had to be sure to “do it right.” If there is any advice I could provide, it would be to get out of the thought process and allow yourself to feel and create. Go with the flow. Let go of thinking about anything. Feeling your way through the creation is what gets me to the other side. There is no “right way” or “wrong way” to make a card. And remember to have fun! I realized that I do not need to be serious when creating cards. I can allow myself to have fun while creating, too.

The magic of SoulCollage® really shines through for me when I allow the cards to speak. That is when I’ve found myself channeling information as the spirit of the card comes through. The process of letting go and allowing magic to happen through the cards continues to provide me with a sense of wonder and appreciation.

After reading from the card, I often ask, “Where did this come from?” and “Did my soul really speak this?” That, to me, is the most magical part of SoulCollage®.

I am one who loves witnessing the “aha” moment when others create their first (or subsequent) cards.

I am one who is grateful for the beautiful community of all those I’ve met, both personally and virtually, through SoulCollage®.

If there was one word to describe how SoulCollage® has impacted my life, that word would be: MAGIC.

Each card has a question that you can ask one or more of your SoulCollage® cards, along with some prompts to help your Neter begin to respond.
