Welcome Kailyn Smith!
"The WCPI internship program expands my appreciation for bipartisan women's leadership with an opportunity to research policies affecting women. Since it took a village of women to mentor me, it is only right that I give back to other women by using my own talents and skills."

-Kailyn Smith, 2020 Fall Intern
As part of WCPI's efforts to develop the next generation of women leaders considering careers in public policy, we are proud to offer paid internships throughout the academic year. WCPI interns leave with the confidence and skills to pursue their next steps as future leaders.

We are happy to have Kailyn Smith, a Bay Area native and rising senior at Howard University, as our latest intern. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business with a minor in Political Science and concentration in Legal Communication.

As a rising leader in her community, she has interned in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, served as a volunteer for Howard University's Student Association within the Department of Political and External Affairs, and is an active member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. When she's not working, studying, or volunteering, she's playing soccer with Howard University's Intramural Soccer Team and Washington Area Women's Soccer League.
