What is your job title and what does the position entail?
Inside Sales/Customer Service. My main focus is order processing, purchasing, and managing customer/sales demos.
How long have you been at ACS?
A very long time...it was 14 years at the end of May!
What do you like best about working at ACS?
We are dog friendly...that is my most favorite thing. And there is never really a dull moment. We are constantly working to develop relationships with new customers and vendors, and we are always looking for ways to improve our ability to provide for our existing customers. Some of our long-time customers (and I've known some for a very long time!) are an extension of our ACS family.
Can you tell us a little about your background and how it helps you in this position?
I am a Florida State Seminole with a BS in Biology and a BS in Secondary Science Education. Rather than join the daily grind right after school, I chose to work as a corporate trainer for Chili's for several years. This allowed me to travel (which I love) and move around, and it honed my skills to multitask and stay extremely organized.
What are some key lessons you have taken from your career thus far?
Do what you say you are going to do, be the person who can be trusted...that will quickly separate you from the rest of the pack and make you invaluable. Also, go above and beyond...there is nothing better than knowing you've made a difference.
Describe some of your hobbies – what do you like to do outside of ACS?
Running, snowboarding, and hanging out with my husband and 2 golden retrievers are my favorite pastimes. And eating good food, drinking good beer and great wine are all close 2nds.
What is one thing your customers might find surprising about you?
I am the youngest of 10. My mom was Irish/Native American, my dad was English/Swedish. Seriously! [see my picture] I was lucky enough to be adopted into a giant, crazy, incredible family.
Do you have any trips planned this summer?
The planned trip I am most looking forward to currently is running the Grand Canyon next May with my husband and a group of friends. It is called "Rim to Rim to Rim". What better way to see one of the world's most amazing landscapes! Excited, a bit nervous, and the appropriate amount scared of the whole idea.
What’s your favorite place in or near Atlanta:
The Atlanta Botanical Garden. From their featured art exhibits and summer concert series to their Holiday Lights and Cocktails in the Garden, it is truly a beautiful place and an amazing venue year round.
