Meet the Police Chief candidates

You're invited to meet the three candidates who are finalists to become

La Vista's next Chief of Police/Director of Public Safety.


The City is hosting a Community Forum tonight (Thursday, February 22) at 7 p.m. at City Hall.


Members of the community are invited to attend this forum to meet each finalist and hear them speak. The forum will also be livestreamed on the City’s Facebook page (@CityofLaVistaGovernment) and YouTube channel (@CityofLaVista).

The La Vista Days Parade will be held Saturday, June 1 at 10 a.m.


We’re putting out a call for floats, marching bands, dance groups, mascots, candidates and others to join the parade.

Be part of the action

La Vista's "March Madness" youth basketball skills competition for boys and girls in grades 3-8 will be held on March 4 and March 5 at the La Vista Community Center.


Due to it's popularity, this event is being split into two nights.


March 4: Grades 3-4

March 5: Grades 5-8


The competition begins at 6 p.m. Registration is 5:30-6 p.m. on the day of the event.

Now hiring lifeguards and pool managers

La Vista Recreation is hiring now to fill the following positions for the summer pool season:


Lifeguards - starting at $15.89/hr (Minimum age is 15)

Assistant Pool Manager - starting at $17.50/hr

Pool Manager - starting at $20.33/hr

Free emergency training

Learn how to help yourself, your loved ones and your community when disaster strikes by attending the free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training!


The training will be held on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. from March 4 through April 22 in Bellevue.

Dress in your best green and join us at the La Vista Community Center on Friday, March 15 for a corned beef and cabbage meal and entertainment from Paul Siebert. All adults ages 55+ are welcome.


The cost is $8.

  • League (Ages 6-7)
  • Academy (Ages 4-5)
  • Tot soccer clinic (Age 3)


League and Academy

The League and Academy meet twice a week for five weeks at the La Vista Sports Complex. Session begins April 9.


Early-bird registration (January 2 - March 4): Residents $33, Non-residents $53

Final registration (March 5 - March 25): Residents $43, Non-residents $63


Clinic for 3-year-olds

The soccer clinic is comprised of five, one-hour sessions to be held on Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. at the La Vista Community Center. Session begins April 6.
