Lindsay Taguma was born in Tokyo, Japan, where she lived and attended international schools until age 11 when her family moved back to Hawaii. She has been an Island resident ever since, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Religion from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2009. Originally she aspired to become a psychologist, but while caring for her own ailing grandparents, she developed a deeper appreciation and love for the elderly. With a renewed sense of purpose, she returned to the University of Hawaii at Manoa to study Nursing.  She worked as an RN at Pearl City Nursing Home and the Villas, where she cared for ICF, SNF and hospice patients.  She graduated with a Master’s degree in Nursing in 2016 and is a certified adult/geriatric nurse practitioner.
