Meet Mathayus, our Warrior Kitty!
This sweet face came to us after a Good Samaritan found him in a truly awful state. Mathayus was covered in dirt and bugs and had dragged himself into a yard. His leg was stuck in a predator trap for an unknown amount of time. He was in so much pain and distress, he had wounds that were consistent with trying to chew his own leg off to escape.
The staff at our partner veterinarian, Pet Station,
jumped into action quickly and performed an emergency amputation to save his life. Mathayus did wonderfully during his procedure and went straight to a foster home to relax and recover.
We want to thank the citizens who rescued him, the staff at Pet Station, the foster family who nursed him back to health, and to his adoptive family who is showering this amazing survivor with love every day.
Mathayus, now named Max, is one of many animals who come into our care each week in desperate need of medical intervention. Our Cinderella Fund allows us to afford emergency surgeries for pets like Mathayus. Donations to our Cinderella Fund will be doubled until we hit our goal of raising $15,000 to save animals in need.
