Linda and Linda - Superstar Volunteers
If you’ve visited the Port Angeles Habitat Store on a Tuesday or during our popular Senior Discount Day on the first Saturday of each month, chances are you’ve encountered our two powerhouse volunteers: Linda G (left) and Linda J (right).
Linda J. has been a devoted volunteer for over 13 years. Her first duties were store resets and making home-cooked meals for construction crews. After a few years, she became a front desk fixture. She has the distinction of working with every manager since the store opened and says she’s enjoyed them all—especially our current Store Director, Sarah. In addition to volunteering her time, Linda supports Habitat financially as a long-term monthly donor through Habitat’s Carpenter Club.
In 2024, Linda J. recruited her good friend, co-volunteer at the Sr. Center, and "Twinda" Linda G., to join the fun at Habitat. Linda G. has embraced volunteering with equal enthusiasm, saying, “Linda told me it would make me happy, and she was right! It's been a very rewarding volunteer experience. ” Linda G. also works at our front counter and loves every moment, saying, “This is the best—I’ll do it ‘til I’m 99!”
They don’t just share a name, they also share a favorite experience: the last 50% off sale, the busiest day they’d ever seen. Along with the staff, the dynamic pair helped raise a record amount for affordable housing.
