Upon Mystique's arrival to Humane Society London & Middlesex it was evident that this sweet, 4-year-old Shar Pei was desperately in need of our help. Not only was she severely underweight, but she also required a bilateral entropion surgery. Entropion is an abnormality of the eyelids in which the eyelid rolls inward. This inward rolling often causes the hair on the surface of the eyelid to rub against the cornea resulting in pain, corneal ulcers, perforations, or pigment developing on the cornea which can interfere with vision.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of HSLM staff and volunteers, we are thrilled to let you know that Mystique is now healthy and happy in her forever home.
HSLM is not funded by the government, so this heart-warming story would not have been possible without the support of our individual and corporate donors.
At this special time of year, please consider making a holiday donation for the animals that desperately need shelter, vet care and love. Every gift is important – every dollar helps.
