MEET THE BOARD
Sharon Whitehead-van Loben Sels, PhD
CHC Board Secretary
Please join us in celebrating the people who work behind the scenes to move the CHC and the homeopathy profession forward each day! We extend heartfelt thanks to each board member.
This month we asked Sharon to share her story:
1. Sharon, please tell us about yourself. What led you to becoming involved with the CHC?
My journey is a bit different than most of the folks in the CHC community. I am not a homeopath. I am on the Board as a representative of the public. I have been surrounded by the expertise and knowledge of homeopaths and strongly believe in this profession. I have had the opportunity to visit a homeopath and been impressed with the level of attention to looking at the 'whole person' versus treating a specific ailment.
2.
What is your vision about the future of Homeopathy as a profession?
My vision for Homeopathy is to have the medical community acknowledge the skill, professionalism and success homeopathy plays in the health field. I believe the public needs to be educated and demand that healthcare institutions and insurance companies get on board to provide access for all people.
3.
What message do you wish to extend to CHC certificants, candidates, and exam applicants?
My message to CCH certificants, candidates and new applicants is to remain vigilant in your goals and to take your rightful place in the health profession. Become ambassadors for your passion and continue to stand by your ethical competence.
4. Anything else you would like to share?
I love learning about homeopathy and when I discovered this medical system was created in 1796 by Samuel Hahnemann, I was amazed. Why is there such resistance in the United States community to embracing this wisdom from centuries ago? I am so fortunate to be part of this organization.
