Announcing Our Awardees!

Each year PSS recognizes three awardees whose work has made a significant impact on the lives of New York City residents, particularly older adults.

This year the PSS Honors Awardees are:

The Maggie Kuhn Award recognizes those who advocate for the dignity and rights of older adults and others. This year’s honoree is Rosanne Leipzig, MD, PhD – internationally acclaimed geriatrician, author and advocate for older adult health.

The Circle of Care Award recognizes the excellent and innovative work being done in the fields of caregiving and dementia. This year’s award goes to CaringKind, which is an invaluable and effective partner in serving our care-giving and care-receiving communities, in the areas of dementia and memory loss. President and CEO, Eleonora C. Tornatore-Mikesh will accept for CaringKind.

The Impact Award was established to highlight champions of positive and purposeful aging. NYC Department for the Aging is the city’s lead agency eliminating ageism and ensuring the dignity and quality of life of NYC’s older adults. Commissioner Lorraine Cortés-Vázquez will accept for NYC Department for the Aging.

Panel Discussion with Moderator Richard Eisenberg

This year we are adding a new and exciting element to our evening agenda. In addition to the awards presentations, we will have an informative panel discussion on aging issues, with the three awards recipients, moderated by Richard Eisenberg, lifelong journalist, author and 2022 PSS Impact Award recipient.
