Meet Our Performers


The Afternotes are a women’s a cappella group based on the seacoast of New Hampshire and Southern Maine. This multi-generation group of UNH alumni bring a fun style and varied repertoire to their performances, showcasing their love of making music across many genres. The Afternotes also strive to bring awareness to local causes and raise money for NH and Maine based charities.

Lewiston High School Chamber Choir

The LHS Chamber Choir is the advanced choral ensemble. Students must audition to be in this class, and work hard throughout the school year to prepare for multiple concerts as well as additional performance opportunities and festivals. Lewiston High School Chamber Choir performs at various community events, including past performances at Holiday at the Plaza in Downtown Lewiston, and singing the National Anthem at the Maine State House. Chamber Choir students are regularly accepted into honors festivals such as the District II and All State Choral Festivals, and the ACDA All Eastern Chorus.

Lewiston High School Blue Notes

Blue Notes is a club that meets for one hour, once a week, to prepare exclusively a cappella music. Blue Notes is an auditioned ensemble and requires students to meet outside of school hours for this extracurricular activity. Blue Notes students are highly dedicated as they must spend time outside of rehearsals preparing their music. Blue Notes performs at LHS Choir Concerts, but this is their first opportunity for an external performance under the leadership of Mr. Brown.


Celebrating 20+ years of music-making, None of the Above (NOTA)is a SATB a cappella group that performs a broad mix of pop tunes, jazz standards, folk, spirituals, and non-traditional music. A finalist on the inaugural season of WGBH's Sing that Thing! NOTA has performed across New England delighting audiences of all ages with their entertaining repertoire.

The Downeasters Chorus is one of the top musical-performing organizations in New England. The Downeasters chorus is dedicated to musical excellence in the a cappella style as well as community outreach and support. They are a part of the Barbershop Harmony Society which promotes a musical art form with genuine American roots and a style that embraces singers of all levels.


All of the singers in the Maine Music Society Chamber Singers are members of the Maine Music Society Chorale. They perform a cappella music from a variety of genres, including early motets, folk songs, modern art songs, and pop music. They have performed at various public events and as a part of several local concert series.

The Maine Music Society is conducting its seventh annual online auction from November 2 -13. This auction is MMS primary fundraiser for the year.
