Spencer Tillman is a former Houston Oiler, Super Bowl Champion, best-selling author, speaker, and Fox Sports broadcaster.
Spencer is a longtime Houston area resident. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, he was a football All-American running back (1982-86) and was the captain of the 1985 OU National Championship team that defeated Penn State, 25-10, in the Orange Bowl. He received several awards during his college career, including UPI Player of the Year in the Conference; Conference Football Newcomer of the Year; and MVP of the 1987 Orange Bowl. He placed fifth in Heisman Trophy voting in 1983.
His professional football career began in Houston with the Oilers before being traded to the San Francisco 49ers, where he co-captained with Joe Montana and Ronnie Lott to win Super Bowl XXIV as they defeated the Denver Broncos.
Spencer served as WABC- TV's sports anchor in New York from 1997 to 1999 and spent 10 years as a sports anchor for KPRC-TV Houston. He joined CBS Sports in 1999,and for the next 16 years served as lead studio analyst for College Football Today, the CBS Television Network's pre-game studio show.
Spencer continues to call the Houston Texans pre-season games for owner Bob McNair and the Texans organization on ABC KTRK (Channel 13). He is CEO of Axiom Sports Productions Inc. a full-service Broadcast Production company located in Sugar Land, Texas, with an office in New York. He is a prominent speaker, giving insights and motivation to varied audiences around the country.
