Dear Members and Friends of Maplewood UMC:
On the afternoon of Sunday, April 7, the church’s Administrative Council had the privilege of meeting the Rev. Andy Bryan, who will be appointed the pastor of our church on Pastor Kim’s retirement at Annual Conference.
Please read Rev. Andy’s bio, below.
Rev. Andy Bryan has served as the lead pastor of Manchester United Methodist Church since July of 2019. Before serving Manchester, Andy served at Campbell UMC in Springfield, First UMC in North Kansas City, and First UMC Warrensburg. He and his wife Erin have three children, Cori (26, married to Alec), Wesley (23), and Gabriel (12), and they have been foster parents since 2006. Andy is currently the Head Delegate for the Missouri Delegation to General Conference.
Andy holds a Bachelor’s in Vocal Music and a Master’s in Choral Conducting from Truman State in Kirksville, and served as a church choir director for five years prior to answering God’s call to pastoral ministry. He earned his MDiv at Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City.
Andy has a passion for preaching and worship. He wants church to be a community in which all people are celebrated for who they are. His approach to ministry emphasizes the sacramental character of the church, embodying the love of God at work in the world.
