Word on the Street
Word on the Street this week is that the newly formed Community Foundation is accepting donations for passes to the Excelsior Springs Community Center
for families who are less fortunate.

If you've had a family member pass from Covid-19 you can apply for funeral reimbursement if they passed on or after January 20, 2020.

From the School District:
ESSD has a waiver from the USDA that allows for free breakfast and lunches this school year. While this has been a great resource for our students, it has an unintended consequence on the number of Free and Reduced lunch applications that parents have filled out.

It is important for all families who may qualify for Free and Reduced lunch to complete the meal application because of the way that the state funds public schools. Schools with higher rates of families who qualify receive additional money for student programs. The funds support teacher salaries, curriculum, learning resources and more!

Every family who completes and submits a meal application by Friday, January 14th, 2022 will be entered into a random drawing for 1 of (4) 75 inch Smart TVs. Anyone with a completed application for the 2021-2022 school year will be eligible for the drawing. Winners will be notified by phone and/or email on or after Tuesday, February 1st, 2022.
