Dan was born in Canton, Ohio USA. He and his wife Denise were high school sweethearts and both attended Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. They were married in 1978.
Dan graduated with an M. Div. from Grace Theological Seminary, after which he and Denise ministered for the next 21 years in Germany. Dan served as a pastor of a German church, as well as a Field Superintendent for both Germany and the Czech Republic. After returning from Europe in 2003, Dan served in senior and teaching pastor roles with an emphasis on teaching and training leaders.
In 2013, he began doctoral studies at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky with an emphasis on Reformation and eighteenth-century Particular Baptist history. He graduated in 2017 with a PhD in Historical Theology and joins Carey Outreach Ministries and Carey International University of Theology as their new USA Director. Dan and Denise have three daughters and six grandchildren, all living near Cincinnati, Ohio.
