Brittany Spanos Wooden’s journey is defined by resilience and a passion for fostering inclusivity. After her family moved from Ohio to New Jersey in search of better opportunities, she faced challenges that inspired her to create spaces where everyone feels they belong.
Starting her career in the private medical sector, she later pursued higher education as a non-traditional student, graduating magna cum laude from Rutgers University with a degree in Africana Studies. She went on to work in the public sector for Princeton Administration and Rutgers, where she advanced her dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Brittany earned her master’s degree in labor and employment relations with a concentration in DEI, graduating summa cum laude while raising her daughters during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also holds a certification in Catholic Bioethics form the University of Mary. A member of the New Jersey Work Environment Council, she developed a racial equity toolkit for the Municipality of Princeton and was recognized as a 2021 Engaging Local Government Leaders Top 100 Influencer.
Currently a doctoral student at Kean University, author of the 8 book series: 4 Sisters by Doctor Momma Wooden, wife, mother of four daughters, and the Executive Director of Community Outreach and Diversity Officer for Saint Peter’s Healthcare System, Brittany continues to educate and advocate for social justice and belonging through transformative action.
