Expressing Our Thanks to You With Music
Thanks to all the members who contributed during our fall membership drive. We shortened our drive to four days and still you met our goal of raising $65,000. Your enthusiasm for WMNR Fine Arts Radio means many more seasons of non-commercial radio, presented by knowledgeable and engaging broadcasters who keep the focus on the music! We're grateful for your partnership.

WMNR's Bob Anderson hosts Fine Arts Forum on Sunday, November 8th at 6:00 pm. His guest is noted musician and songwriter Livingston Taylor. They'll discuss Taylor's upcoming performance at the Ridgefield Playhouse and listen to some of his work, all in celebration of Taylor's 70th birthday.

On Thanksgiving Day, Parker Prout of Thursday Morning Classics, will be in the studio live to spend Thanksgiving morning with you. As he has for over a decade, Parker will present a morning of American composers and works in celebration of the season. Later that evening, join Dick Hageman of Good Folk for "A Thanksgiving Harvest," featuring the music of the Weston Priory and folk artists like Neal Hellman, Rich Bala, and Phil Cunningham. Following Good Folk, Dick presents "A Windham Hill Thanksgiving" on New Music Gallery.

At 9:00 pm on Saturday, November 28th, H. William Stine presents his 11th annual "Music to be Thankful For" on Turntable For One. As is his tradition, Bill has invited broadcasters and staff to suggest a song and record a moment describing why they are thankful for the piece. Tune in to hear from broadcasters like Gary Gerard, Garrett Stack, Susan Kennedy and Will Duchon. And! This year Bill has contributions from jazz vocalists who've been featured on TTFO. Along with WMNR's contributions, you'll hear from Champian Fulton, René Marie, Janet Planet, and Amber Weekes.
Meet Board Operator Robin Rockwell
Meet Robin Rockwell, our newest Board Operator, shown here at work in Master Control. Robin joins Board Ops Dave Rohlfing, Roger Post, and Bob Craig in editing programs, airing recorded hours, and keeping an eye on the log to make sure PSAs, underwriting spots, and station IDs air. Robin is finishing up a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music at Western Connecticut State University. Her primary instrument is clarinet, secondary bassoon. Robin says “I've been a daily listener ever since I started driving to high school junior year. I would listen to ‘Composer's Datebook’ and discuss it with my theory teacher daily. I'm extremely passionate about music.” Welcome Robin!
