"I chose to run with team Esplanade because I love the mission of the organization. I am very passionate about the environment and I am proud to run with and represent a team that is focused on improving their community, the environment, and the training route of the Boston Marathon."

"In high school, the Boston Esplanade was my view during Saturday morning practices on the Charles. In college, it was the starting line for races in the Head of the Charles Regatta. Now, it is where I do my long runs on the weekends and try to watch as many sunsets as I can year-round."

"Losing my dog to acute leukemia wasn’t easy back on April 24th 2018 but I’m dedicating all my runs to him, #MilesForCooper. I chose to run on the Team Esplanade because I love the park and what it provides for the Boston community. I wanted to support such a great park."

"Every single day I think about how lucky we are to have such a gorgeous and impeccably maintained waterfront public park right in the middle of the city. I am honored and thrilled to be a part of this team, and to give back to an organization that gives so much to my neighborhood, my city, and of course, to my dog, Carsie."

"As someone who cares deeply for Boston's historic and natural resources, the Esplanade Association was the perfect fit. I'm honored to run for an organization that cares for such a quintessential Boston park. I know running on Team Esplanade will give me the motivation I need to achieve my goal!"

"One of my biggest passions is running and staying active. I enjoying pushing myself to new limits that i never thought were possible. Running in the Boston Marathon is a bucket list item for any athlete and I could not be more excited to take part in this awesome event while supporting a great cause."

"One of my favorite areas of Boston to enjoy is the Esplanade. From participating in the Walk for MS at Babson, to boating, kayaking, and long runs; concerts, hanging with friends, and more, the Esplanade has always been a special place to me. I am thrilled to support the evolution of this historic area of Boston and continue to create additional opportunities for programming."

"I have never considered myself a natural runner, but in the past couple of years my passion and interest in running has certainly grown. A large part of this is due to countless hours spent running along the Charles River Esplanade. Everyday, countless runners, walkers, and general outdoor enthusiasts like myself are lucky enough to enjoy this incredible space."

"I fell in love with Boston while attending Northeastern University from 2011 - 2015. During those years, the one constant in my life was always the same - running. Running at the fitness center after class, running around the Charles to re-group after a long weekend, running to support a variety of local organizations in organized 5Ks, and running to achieve my goals."
"As an employee of Community Boating (a non-profit community sailing center of the Esplanade) for nearly two years, the Esplanade Association seemed like the perfect organization for me. For years the Esplanade has been one of my favorite spots in the city; I regularly would walk over to eat lunch there when I was at my first post-undergrad job, and now I get to spend every day working on the Esplanade."
"When I first moved to the city many years ago I really wanted a place where I could be outside and enjoy nature. The Esplanade has always been my sanctuary where I can run along the Charles, go rollerblading or just enjoy a sunset on the docks. As a realtor in the city my clients always request outdoor space when house hunting. I love introducing people to the Esplanade."

"I am a 32-year-old back-of-the-pack runner! After moving to Beacon Hill four years ago, I took up running around the Esplanade as a way to cool down after a long day of work across the river in Cambridge. Before I knew it, I was running my first 5K, my first 10k, and three half marathons around New England; and I just completed my very first full marathon two months ago in Berlin, of all places!"
"I graduated with my BSN from Northeastern, and am now studying to become a family Nurse Practitioner. I currently work as a registered nurse at Cambridge Hospital as well as the South Boston Community health center. I have run several marathons in the past, but I haven’t ever been as excited for them as I am for Boston!"
"When I'm not outside, I'm sitting in a cafe optimizing software for biochemistry or physics simulations, or spending time kicking back with friends. I'm excited to run with Team Esplanade because makes me a part of a team unified by support for the Esplanade, a public space the entire Boston community holds dear."
