Welcome Teresa Gillett!
Teresa Gillett is excited to start her new position as Development Director at St. John the Evangelist Parish.  She spent the last eight years as the Development Director at St. Benedict School in Wallingford, where she and her husband, Michael, are parishioners and where her now grown daughters graduated.  Teresa is looking forward her new chapter of being part of the dynamic and welcoming community that is St. John!  
In her spare time, Teresa enjoys travel, cooking, walking and spending time with family.

Preparing for the Lenten Journey:  A women's retreat .
Join us in the admin building on February 22.  8:30 am for coffee and pastries.  Programming starts at 9:00 am.  We'll wrap up around noon.

Middle School Youth Group!  This is new, and it's going to be fun.  February 23, 5:00 -6:30 pm in the mezzanine.  Join us for food, games, and fellowship.  RSVP to
First Friday Lenten (meatless) potluck.    Bring something meatless to share and join us on February 28th for First Friday supper in Egan Hall.  5:30 - 7:00 pm.  There will be crafts and fun for the kids too!  
Let's cook a meal for our homeless neighbors.  Come to Egan Hall on Sunday March 1st at 4:00 pm to prepare dinner for the 30 residents of Tent City across the street at Phinney Lutheran.  Tent city is moving to another location on March 7.  Let's spread good will to our vulnerable brothers and sisters by making them a warm meal.  Please RSVP to
Young Adults!
Theology on Tap is back!
Join young adults from across the Seattle area for a series of great speakers, conversations, and community. This winter, we have an awesome lineup for Theology on Tap:
  •  February 18 -"Faith at Work" by Anna Johnson
  •  February 25 -"Everyday Discernment & Lent" by Bishop Eusebio   Elizondo, M.Sp.S.
We will start at 7:30 each night at Zeek's Pizza (Capitol Hill) -more info can be found here.

CYO Baseball Registration
Take me out to the ball game....  Registration for CYO baseball is open!  Students in grades 5-8 are encouraged to join.  The deadline to register is February 13, 2020.

Climate Change Talk Wrap Up
This past Sunday, The Saint Francis of Assisi ministry hosted Kathy Dawson who spoke to thirty attendees on the topic "Climate Change: The Science, Impacts and Solutions." Kathy is a member of the All Pilgrims Christian Church on Capitol Hill, a Climate Reality Leader, and a co-leader of the Seattle Climate Change meetup. 
Kathy began with beautiful photo of planet earth taken from Apollo 17 space mission and the following three questions:
  1. Must we change?
  2. Can we change?
  3. Will we change?
