During her seminary training, Patti Fraley did field work at St. Anne's Mead, where she fell in love with the residents and staff. Once ordained, Rev. Deacon Patti joined St. James Episcopal Church in Birmingham, one of the founding congregations of St. Anne's Mead.

About Deacon Patti

Patti has led a "patient-centered" life. Working in a physician's office, she gained insight into the needs of patients of all ages. She strived to help others anyway she could. At Grace Episcopal, her home church, she and a friend started a Sunday evening Soup Kitchen for the homeless people in Mt. Clements. The Soup Kitchen helps those in need to this day.

As a Deacon at St. James, she is dedicated to liturgical, pastoral care and outreach missions, one of which is visiting the residents of St. Anne's Mead and sharing the Gospel. "Caring for my mother-in-law, who had Alzheimer's disease, opened my eyes to the needs of seniors and memory care patients. I wanted to do more, and I am so glad I found St. Anne's Mead and am able to provide a ministry here," said Patti.

Being a "Trustee" and Looking Forward

As Vice President, I am happy to be able to support the work being done and the quality of care being given to the residents. While the pandemic stalled and stunted many things, Patti is an outdoor enthusiast who spends quality time walking her beloved dog and gardening. She likes to see things grow. "I look forward to St. Anne's Mead coming out of this pandemic and growing into the future, and that our reputation for great care will continue," she said.

St. Anne's Mead is blessed to have such a dedicated leader in Deacon Patti.
