Calling All Cancer Survivors

As National Cancer Survivors Day approaches, we need your help to honor the courage and strength of cancer survivors. We're inviting our CARES community to share their personal cancer journeys. Whether you're a survivor or caregiver, your story can inspire and provide hope to others.

Let's come together to celebrate and support each other in the fight against cancer!

A Night To Remember

Earlier this month, CARES returned to Simsbury, Connecticut for a very special Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer Celebration Ice Show. This year's event was not just a fundraiser for cancer research, but also the International Skating Center of Connecticut's 30th Anniversary and a memorial to Evgenia Shiskova and Vadim Naumov, former Simsbury residents who lost their lives on American Airlines 5342 earlier this year.

CARES Founder Scott Hamilton was once again joined by fellow Olympic Champions (and former Simsbury residents!) Katia Gordeeva and Victor Petrenko, as well as Olympians Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukov, US National Pewter Medalist Maxim Naumov, Junior World Ice Dance Champions Noemi Mari Tali and Noah Lafornara, US Junior National Champions Hana Maria Aboian and Daniil Veselukhin, USA Pairs Ellie Korytek and Timmy Chapman, US Junior National Silver Medalist Skylar Latowa-Peguero, US Junior National Bronze Medalist Patrick Blackwell, American Ice Theatre Boston, and even a special fire performance from Danielle Logano Logan for a night to remember.

With nearly $30,000 raised to date, we are so grateful to all our Sk8 participants, donors, ticket holders, and the owners and management at ISCC for making this annual event a huge success!

Next up for the Simsbury community - it's hockey's turn, as ISCC hosts a 3v3 Youth Hockey Jamboree on June 7th to keep the fundraising going!
