Meet ReStore manager Tyler Wiggs
Tyler Wiggs has been leading the ReStore as the General Manager since 2014, but his involvement with Habitat McLean County began before that. As a student at Illinois State University, Tyler participated in Trick or Treat for Change, the Habitat Campus Chapter’s main annual fundraiser, and helped build on multiple houses. He also participated in a build trip over spring break. All of these experiences lead Tyler to develop a passion for Habitat’s mission, as well as serving the community.

After graduation, Tyler worked as a police officer for the Town of Normal. When a position opened up at the ReStore, Tyler felt it was a way to continue giving back through Habitat McLean County. He has been working to improve operations ever since. Under his leadership, the ReStore has grown in both staffing and size. The expansion has helped the ReStore serve more of the community and raise additional funds for Habitat McLean County.

In addition to serving on local builds, Tyler was part of the Habitat McLean team that went to Nicaragua in 2018 to build with our tithing partners. Tyler loves to volunteer and seeks to find creative solutions to help solve problems. He hopes to see the ReStore continue to positively impact people’s lives in our community and beyond.

At home, Tyler and his wife, Hillary, have three children and two dogs. As you can imagine, they have quite the busy household, but they love spending time together as a family. Hillary teaches in a bilingual elementary classroom, and their two oldest children started school this fall. Not only have they planted roots in this community, but they have brought members of their extended family to the area as well. We are glad to have them as part of our Habitat family.
